Las Cruces, NM - Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest (GSDSW) is honored to announce the group of women being recognized at the 7th Annual Women of Distinction Luncheon. We will pay tribute to the dedicated work of Kay Brilliant, Julia Brown, Mary Lou Brown, Jean Gilbert, and Ana Mangino. Additionally, in memory of a legendary and longtime Girl Scout volunteer, we will award the first ever Jo Tice Bloom Outstanding Community Service Award to the group Revolution 120 for their tremendous fundraising efforts and edge-of-crisis assistance in Las Cruces.
The ceremony will take place Tuesday, September 17, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum. Tickets, tables, and sponsorships may be purchased at www.gsdswwomenofdistinction.org. Carrie Hamblen, CEO of the Las Cruces Green Chamber of Commerce will be the emcee.
The luncheon serves to amplify the stories of our neighbors and change-makers, G.I.R.L.s (Go-Getters, Innovators, Risk-Takers, and Leaders) who dedicate their efforts to advancing our Southern New Mexico communities. Join GSDSW and our sponsors, The Las Cruces Bulletin, Batteries & Bulbs, Court Youth Center, Ashley Homestore, First American Bank, and Aprendamos Intervention Team by honoring these local women and their causes at this special event. Proceeds from the luncheon will fund scholarships, leadership experiences, and unique programming for girls in New Mexico. We are grateful to our sponsors who help girls in New Mexico to build courage, confidence, and character through Girl Scouting.
Sponsorship provides girls with scholarships, leadership experiences, and pays tribute to our honorees.
