2017 Girl Scout Cookie Program
The tradition of Girl Scout selling cookies began with Juliette Low in 1917 as girls baked cookies to help fund their troop activities. Many things have changed since then. For instance, customers are now offered nine varieties of cookies instead of just one (include the new Trios!). One thing has not changed over the years, the Girl Scout Cookie Program is still the premier entrepreneurial program for girls!
This year’s Girl Scout Cookie Program theme is Be Unique. Be You! By participating in the cookie program your Girl Scouts are developing the 5 Skills (Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills and Business Ethics) that can lay the groundwork for a lifetime of success. Plus, it’s a great way to think about the many ways the cookie program yields tangible results in support of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. What will you do with your cookie earnings? Will you buy new uniforms for your troop? Go on a road trip across the state? The possibilities are endless.
