T.W.Y.G. (Train With Your Girl) CAMPING - Lincoln National Forest
We will head to the mountains, set up tents, and sleep under the stars for this T.W.Y.G.! Food never tastes better than when cooked over a campfire. Hiking trails are close by and maybe we will see some deer and wild turkey. Bring your binoculars for some bird watching and sketch pad for the wildflowers. This is what camping is all about!
The cost of this T.W.Y.G. (Train With Your Girl) covers a girl (Cad/Sen/Amb) and a leader/parent/adult. Each girl must be accompanied by an adult. Each adult must be a currently registered Girl Scout with a background check.
For this T.W.Y.G. you may bring up to 2 girls per 1 adult. (The adult must be a registered member with a background check.) Please be mindful about the Safety Checkpoints and the adult/girl ratio in tents.
If you are bringing your daughter - you may stay in the same tent as her.
If you are bringing a girl from your troop not related to you - you may not stay in the same tent has her unless there are two unrelated adults in that tent.
A FEW NOTES:
- Dinner is on your on Friday evening! There are places to eat in Cloudcroft or plan a picnic in the woods.
- We will do breakfast, lunch, dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
- There are no designated tent spots. It is open camping among the trees.
- There is a composting toilet on site and a pavillion.
- Please do not bring electronics for the girls - we are going to unplug and enjoy nature! (Parents - we understand life happens and cell phones are good for emergencies but we ask you to be as unplugged as possible).
Directions: From Alamogordo take US 82 east, go 17 miles, just past Cloudcroft. Turn left (northwest) onto NM 244. Go approximately 1 mile. Turn right onto Forest Road 422. Go approximately 1/4 mile. Campground is on the left.
Early Bird Deadline: Monday, July 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM MT Fee: $45 per person.
Registration Deadline: Monday, August 10. 2026 at 5:00 PM MT Fee: $50 per person.
