Camping is a great way for girls to explore leadership, build skills, and develop a deep appreciation for nature. Whether they go for a day, week, or longer, Girl Scout camp gives girls an opportunity to grow, explore, and have fun under the guidance of caring, trained adults. Every girl deserves a chance to camp! Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest offers a wide range of outdoor activities and camps from day programs to week-long overnights. There is an adventure for every girl!
In addition to our wonderful Girl Scout Program Centers and facilities, GSDSW is exceptionally proud to have an amazing camp available for Girl Scouts.
Camp Mitre Peak 2020: Home Edition
Join us online to experience the things you love about Camp Mitre Peak! “CMP 2020: Home Edition” creates a virtual camp experience with girl led and girl choice just like summer camp!
Who is leading this new adventure? Camp Director Jana Jones (Camp Name: Willow) and Assistant Camp Director Heather Westerfield (Camp Name: Sprocket) are already working hard for you! Our experienced camp staff, counselors, and volunteers are designing fun and interactive activities, plus ways for campers to connect with their camp buddies and new friends.
Join the CMP staff to participate in online flag ceremonies, opening and closing campfires, hikes, horse lessons, video challenges, evening activities and YoYo (You’re on Your own) activities, which are basically elective activities that campers select from. Campers, you will see other familiar faces, like Pika, Weasel, Cleats, Phoenix, Chaos, Blossom, Shrimp, Roo, Cricket, Dot, Bloo and introducing Jaz, the GSDSW STEM Director! Each week offers different activities so sign-up for both weeks! Get your friends to sign-up too, then make sure to list them as buddies! List up to 4 buddies!
