Calling all Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors who love being outdoor and learning about nature! The Outdoor Academy is for you!
In this 2-day, hands-on program, you will investigate desert ecology and river habitats, make an herbarium, do water testing on the Pecos River, start a birding life list, and more! We will explore the highs of local mesas and the lows along the river. We will use the Carlsbad Girl Scout Program Center as our base and sleep over in the main room Saturday night, complete with cook-out!
Then you take what you learned and teach younger Girl Scouts in your own troop, a sister troop, a new troop, or even make a short video to be shared nationwide! You will be the "expert" and have the knowledge to share and the tools to use. The choice of what you want to share it up to you.
Level: Cadettes - Ambassadors with an adult. All adults must be a current member with a background check.
Fee: $20 for adult/girl (The cost of this T.W.Y.G. covers one leader/parent/adult and a girl. )
