Join us in Roswell for all the creativity, fun, and excitement racing has to offer!
Girl Scouts design and build their derby car then watch it race down the track at its top speed. All building supplies will be provided. Cars must meet building requirements to race.
The race is a one and done - one time down the track, fastest time for each Girl Scout level wins.
Awards will be given for 1st and 2nd place in each Girl Scout level and one Grand Prize winner for the fastest overall time.
Derby car building will take place at the Roswell Program Center on Saturday, April 18, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM MT. You do not need to stay for the entire time. Cars will remain at the Program Center until the completion of the race.
The race is Saturday, April 18, 2026 starting at 4:00 PM MT (until all cars raced).
Winners and trophy presentation will take place at the end of the race.
Girls get to keep their derby car! (Attendance at the race is not required to compete).
If you would like to use Desert Dollars, please register for the program and then submit the Desert Dollars and redemption form to GSDSW, 225 E. Idaho, Ste. 9, Las Cruces, NM 88005 or bring them with you to the event and you will be refunded the registration fee.
